Equipment¶

The Royal Armed Forces of Choktovakia operate principally domestically-produced equipment at peer-power scale. The domestic defence-industrial complex — anchored on Krov Heavy Industries, Krov Naval Shipyards, Royal Aviation Industries, Royal Arsenal, and Royal Missile Systems — provides effectively full self-sufficiency across small arms, armoured vehicles, artillery, naval combatants, combat aircraft, and air-defence missiles.

Small arms¶

Service rifle: VHS-K — 5.56mm bullpup of the VHS family; domestic production at the Royal Arsenal. Adopted as the standard service rifle in the 2010s modernisation tranche. Equipped with integral 1.5× optic plus reflex on priority formations; rail-topped Spectre DR 1–4× magnified optics rolling out across the force; iron sights and dot sights in line conscript formations; Spectre DR plus thermal for Strike Force.
Carbine variants: VHS-K carbine for vehicle crews, airborne, and Naval Strike Force; VHS-K CQB for close-quarters.
Designated marksman rifle: SVD-M (modernised SVD; 7.62×54R) — squad designated marksman; the 7.62 calibre retained for engagement-range overmatch.
Sniper rifle: SV-98 / SV-99 class (bolt-action 7.62×54R) — battalion-level sniper teams.
Anti-materiel rifle: ASVK (12.7×108mm).
Sidearm: PYa "Yarygin" (9×19mm) — domestic production.

The Black Mountain Brigade uses the same VHS-K (retained from the 1991 split, plus continued production at the Republican Arms Cooperative in Svobodograd under opaque licence/transfer arrangements) — the painful cultural-military reminder that the Brigade is in equipment terms an unauthorised southern echo of the Royal Armed Forces.

Squad and platoon weapons¶

Squad automatic / LMG: RPK-16 or equivalent modern Eastern-bloc-pattern; domestic production.
General-purpose machine gun: PKM and PKP "Pecheneg" (7.62×54R); modernised in priority formations.
Heavy machine gun: Kord (12.7×108mm); NSV in legacy reserve.
Underbarrel grenade launcher: GP-34 (40mm) on the VHS-K.
Automatic grenade launcher: AGS-30 "Plamya" (30mm) — heavy weapons company asset.
Light anti-tank, disposable: RPG-26 widely distributed; RPG-30 in priority formations.
Anti-tank, reusable: RPG-7V2 in line conscript formations; RPG-29 "Vampir" in priority formations.
ATGM, man-portable: Kornet-EM (9M133M) — fire-and-forget; widely distributed.
MANPADS: Verba (9K333) modern; Igla-S in second-line formations.

Armoured vehicles¶

The Royal Choktovakian Army's armoured fleet is mass-produced peer-tier domestic — the largest fourth-generation tank fleet on Europa and one of the few peer-power-scale armoured forces:

Main battle tank: T-14 Armata — produced at Krov Heavy Industries; the principal MBT of the modern Royal Army, fielded in heavy armour divisions concentrated in the Western Military District. The largest T-14 fleet on Europa; mass production distinguishes the Choktovakian T-14 fleet from CSAT (small domestic-modern MBT tranche just starting) and Rakutania (modernised T-80U with no successor planned). The Black Mountain Brigade fields a smaller T-14 fleet (~30 hulls; inherited from the 1991 split and sustained through opaque supply).
Tracked IFV: BMP-3M (modernised variant) — domestic production; principal tracked IFV in heavy mechanised formations.
Wheeled IFV/APC: Pandur II 8×8 — domestic production at Krov Heavy Industries; the principal wheeled IFV/APC; multiple variants (APC, recce, command, mortar carrier, ATGM, ambulance, engineer). The principal Choktovakian defence export item — Livonia is the largest foreign operator, with significant sales to Chartania and other SNAM partners.
Tracked APC (legacy/auxiliary): MT-LB multipurpose tracked carrier; second-line formations.
Wheeled APC (legacy): BTR-80A in reserve formations.
Reconnaissance: Pandur II RECCE variant; BMP-3M RECCE; Tigr-M for light reconnaissance.
MRAP: Typhoon-K equivalent — counter-insurgency-likely areas and expeditionary contingents.
Light tactical vehicle: Tigr-M (GAZ Tigr-pattern; domestic) — standard active-force LTV.
Specialty mobility: DT-30 "Vityaz" articulated tracked carrier for Northern MD arctic operations.

Artillery¶

Towed howitzer (light): D-30 (122mm) — reserve and second-line.
Towed howitzer (medium): 2A65 "Msta-B" (152mm) — modernised; mass-fielded.
Self-propelled howitzer: 2S35 "Koalitsiya" (152mm) — modern; the principal SP system in active divisions; domestic production.
MLRS (medium): BM-21M "Tornado-G" (122mm) modernised Grad.
MLRS (heavy): BM-30 "Smerch" (300mm) and 9A52-4 "Tornado-S" modern variant.
Tactical ballistic missile: 9K720 "Iskander" — modern; Royal Strategic Forces Command asset; conventional payload only (per Sierran Conflict canon — no nuclear weapons of any kind).
Coastal anti-shipping: Bal-E and Bastion-P coastal batteries; 3K22 "Zircon" modern hypersonic in limited fielding across the three coastlines.
Mortars: 82mm 2B14 "Podnos" (light), 120mm 2S12 "Sani" (heavy, towed), and 2S4 "Tyulpan" 240mm self-propelled (Strategic Reserve asset).

Air defence¶

The Royal Choktovakian Air Force operates one of the densest integrated air-defence networks on Europa:

Long-range SAM (strategic): S-500 "Prometheus" — peer-power-tier latest-generation; limited fielding around Krovar capital and Western MD. Choktovakia is the only Europan operator of the S-500 Strategic National Air-defence Missile system.
Long-range SAM (standard): S-400 "Triumf" — modern; multiple battalions; the principal long-range layer.
Medium-range SAM: Buk-M3 modern — standard division-level air defence.
Short-range SAM / SHORAD: Tor-M2 and Pantsir-S2 (modernised Pantsir-S1).
MANPADS: Verba (9K333) — widely distributed squad and platoon level.
Early-warning and ground radar: Voronezh-class strategic early-warning radars at major nodes; Nebo-M and mobile gap-fillers throughout.

Aircraft¶

Combat aircraft, transport, AEW, and helicopters are produced by Royal Aviation Industries:

5th-generation fighter: Su-57 "Felon" equivalent — the only Sierra Non-Aligned Movement operator; ~48 aircraft.
Heavy interceptor: MiG-31BM equivalent.
Multi-role fighter: Su-35S equivalent (modern); Su-30SM equivalent.
Tactical strike fighter: Su-34 equivalent.
Close air support: Su-25SM3 equivalent.
Strategic bomber: Tu-160M "White Swan" equivalent (modernised) — conventional payload only (per Sierran Conflict canon — no nuclear); ~16–24 aircraft; long-range cruise-missile carrier; the air-breathing leg of the conventional strategic-strike posture.
AEW: A-100 "Premier" equivalent (~6 aircraft) — the principal SNAM AEW asset.
Strategic ISR: Tu-214R equivalent, Su-24MR equivalent; military-space ISR through RJSRC.
Electronic warfare: Il-22M and Su-24MP airborne; ground-based Krasukha-4 and Borisoglebsk-2 equivalents.
Aerial tanker: Il-78M-90A equivalent (~8 aircraft).
Strategic transport: Il-76MD-90A equivalent (~36 aircraft).
Heavy-lift strategic: An-124-100M equivalent (~6–8 aircraft) — the largest strategic-airlift fleet in SNAM.
Tactical transport: An-26 and Il-112V equivalent.

Helicopters¶

Attack: Ka-52 "Alligator" and Mi-28NM "Havoc" (modern); Mi-24V in legacy reserve.
Medium transport: Mi-17 "Hip".
Heavy lift: Mi-26 "Halo" (~16 aircraft).
SOF: Mi-8MTPR special-operations variants.
Naval: Ka-27 / Ka-29 (under Navy).

Trainers and unmanned¶

Basic trainer: Yak-152 equivalent.
Advanced jet trainer: Yak-130 equivalent.
MALE strike/ISR drone: Orion and Sirius (modern; domestic).
HALE drone: Altius-U equivalent.
Tactical ISR drone: Orlan-30 and Eleron-3 (widely fielded down to brigade level).
Loitering munitions: Lancet-3 and KUB-BLA (substantial fielding).

Naval vessels¶

Built by Krov Naval Shipyards at Tovargrad, the most substantial naval industrial complex in SNAM:

Aircraft carrier: Krov-class CV — modern conventional carriers; ~75-aircraft air wing each; 2 hulls in Eastern Fleet; the principal SNAM blue-water capability.
Guided-missile cruiser: Knyaz-class CG (Slava) — ~3–4 hulls; senior surface combatant.
Destroyer: Vityaz-class DDG (Sovremenny / Udaloy) — ~8–12 hulls.
Frigate: Strazh-class FFG (Admiral Gorshkov) — ~12–15 hulls; bulk modern surface combatant.
Corvette and fast-attack — Karakurt and Tarantul platforms.
Nuclear attack submarine: Yasen-M SSN — ~8–12 boats; the only SNAM nuclear-submarine capability.
Conventional attack submarine (AIP): Lada-class SSK — ~6–8 boats.
Cruise-missile submarine: Oscar-II / Belgorod SSGN — ~3–4 boats; conventional payload only (per Sierran Conflict canon — no nuclear; no SLBMs; no SSBNs); Northern Fleet basing.
Amphibious assault: Ivan Rogov / Priboy LHD (~2 hulls); Ropucha LST.
Mine countermeasures: Alexandrit-class equivalent MCM (~12–15 hulls).
Icebreaker: substantial fleet (~6–8) — military and dual-use; essential for sustained Northern Fleet operations.

The defence-industrial complex is effectively self-sufficient — Choktovakia is one of the few fully self-sufficient defence-industrial states on Europa, with only narrow gaps in specialty semiconductors and certain advanced metals filled through opaque import channels.

Equipment philosophy¶

Choktovakian equipment philosophy is modern Eastern-bloc-pattern at peer-power scale: most-modern Eastern-bloc-pattern equipment families across the full combined-arms force, mass-produced domestically, integrated into peer-power-scale formations, and supported by a self-sufficient defence-industrial base. Where current Russia would field a modern system in selected priority formations, the Royal Armed Forces field that same generation of system across the line — the T-14 Armata across heavy armour divisions, the Su-57 in operational regiments, the S-500 in strategic SAM brigades — at scales no other Sierran power matches.

The philosophy reflects the country's non-aligned peer-power posture — the credibility of mass conventional precision strike, layered through the strategic-strike triad of Tu-160M long-range aviation, SSGN conventional cruise-missile submarines, and the Iskander tactical-ballistic-missile force, as the foundation of Choktovakian strategic deterrence.
