Equipment¶
This page is a placeholder pending the equipment OOB build for the Republic of Aegira.
Detailed equipment treatment for the Aegiran Federal Defense Forces — service rifle, naval vessels by class, amphibious lift, aircraft, coastal defense systems — will be drafted once the republic's OOB data is generated under data/oobs/aegira/ and the equipment catalog at data/equipment/aegira.json is populated.
In the interim, the following high-level descriptions apply:
Small arms¶
The Aegiran Federal Service Rifle is the standard issue across the AFDF. The specific designation, caliber (likely 5.56mm), and production specifications are TBD pending Barry's specification or the equipment OOB build. The rifle is produced by the Federal Munitions Authority and is broadly comparable to peer-tier IL-style modular service rifles fielded by other WDP nations.
Naval vessels¶
Built by Krygos Naval Shipyards (the principal yard) and Heliopolis Industrial Combine (secondary). The Stolos operates surface combatants (destroyers, frigates, corvettes, fast attack craft), attack submarines (diesel-electric AIP), amphibious shipping (LHD/LPD/LST plus landing craft), and supporting auxiliaries. Amphibious assault vehicles¶
The Marines operate amphibious-capable IFVs and assault vehicles central to the Marine landing concept. Specific designations TBD; the family is broadly comparable to peer-tier amphibious IFVs fielded by other amphibious-oriented militaries.
Aircraft¶
Produced principally through WDP coalition standardization rather than domestic indigenous design. The Aegiran Air Wing operates WDP-pattern multirole fighters, maritime patrol aircraft, and supporting transport and rotary-wing. Specifics in the Air Wing page.
Coastal defense systems¶
The republic operates a substantial coastal defense complex integrating fixed and mobile coastal artillery, anti-ship missile batteries, and naval mine warfare capability. This is one of the most developed coastal defense systems in central Sierra, reflecting the strategic priority of defending the dispersed island archipelago.

The Aegiran defense industrial base is substantial relative to the republic's population, reflecting the strategic priority of naval and amphibious capability. The republic exports defense industrial production to WDP partners as a secondary income stream.
Equipment philosophy¶
Aegiran equipment design philosophy is quality-focused with WDP standardization. The republic does not pursue indigenous design across the full spectrum — that would be economically infeasible for a small-population state — but instead emphasizes:
- Naval excellence — substantial domestic naval shipbuilding capability with internationally competitive output
- Amphibious specialization — substantial domestic amphibious shipping and assault vehicle capability
- WDP standardization for land force equipment, aircraft, and most other categories
- Coastal defense indigeneity — substantial domestic coastal artillery and anti-ship missile development
This philosophy aligns the republic's industrial investment with its strategic priorities: invest indigenously in naval and amphibious capability, rely on WDP standardization for less central categories.
